yeah i might be lonely

Photographs and yearbook
that I've taken many a look
They remind of past far away
that passed like in a single day

In a second, it all comes right
back to me when there's no light
Nothing was forgotten now
that I saved in a down

As I missed each plane departed
standing at the fence at the runway
I've taken every second for granted
to try for what I had wanted

I think that's the last call
I think the drops are about to fall
on a sunny day and clear moon night
that the ferry's about to leave

Can we have one more shot?
Though I ask this alot
The plane engine muffles my voice
and I'm left with no choice

I have the same ball in my throat
something I can't swallow
Neither can I wallow
but I do try to hide it every day

There's nothing left on this heartland
There's nothing on that island
but look up the stars every night
and spread your wings, fly away

lost minute and moments

timing, positions ain't right
as it fades away with night
the chessboard is a mess
grandmasters couldn't care less

I'm searching for
a sense in futile purpose
I've not just turned my back
on a cause that's just a stack

the steps ahead groan, crumbling
while the ones behind, grumbling
we're stuck in the present
with no vision nor heads-up

there is a flight opposite, I see
it's the runway where she flees
Time bought her a ticket and
hard work earned her a place

of personal statements and references
she has no need for deferences
how she flies over-ahead
while we're all knocked dead

the sun shines up above
there isn't much of a helping
she's gone, she's going
and finally I'm not following

early in the morning march

I'm a lone trooper on the line
with pack full of stuff and
a foot full of blisters
I tried to make my time

with my heavy pack and my
battle accessories, I try to toe
a line, but I realised that too
many in front and little behind

with 140 men in front
and some more on my flank
I see the gaps in between
and the nine leading

at the behest of the ghost commander
I can't go further, I can't move faster
the 140 move so far and fast
and I've only stayed at 40

it's 2008 already?

of reservations and resolutions
our minds are not made
we've built our contingent
of misfits and Reluctance

Let me hear the fireworks again
the pop and the bang in the sky
the fading lights and the hype that
fizzled out faster than the buzz

my second hand ticks fast outside
but comes to a standstill inside
I'm lost in the sea of confusion
where our intellect counts down fast

The lost traveller without a compass
holding the same map of yesteryears
refusal doesn't mean stubborn-ness
but he clutches it tightly

try to put the picture down
and get some sleep at night
it's time to carry on down the path
alone, yet, once again and again

we meet for a final time and part forever
if you're leaving, take good care
hope you've got lotsa nice friends everywhere
cos it's a wild world out there
